Today’s report: Lower state, local numbers; looking at trends

The Mississippi State Department of Health this afternoon says there have been 109 new cases of the virus reported in the past 24 hours throughout the state, but none locally.

Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich says he expects to return publoic parks to their normal operating hours this week; however, parks remain open only walking, jogging or individual recreation. No organized sports can be played, and social distancing should be respected.

Biloxi municipal offices also will remain closed to walk-in traffic, Gilich said.

Today’s Be Prepared report includes a look at the 14-day trends in new cases and today offers a 30-day perspective. Also included in the report: vintage video of Biloxi from the 1950s.
