The Biloxi City Council is scheduled to vote this afternoon on a measure that would allow a mixed-use development on 27.5 acres of land on Pass Road, immediately west of Keesler Federal Credit Union.
The Bay Village proposal, which is on a site that was formerly part of Edgewater Bay Golf Course, would be constructed in nine phases, if approved.
The first phase could include about 56 residential units and 37,500 square feet of commercial space. Phases 2 through 4 would about 80 townhomes, and Phases 5 through 9 would include about 100 single-family “courtyard” housing units.
Developers are seeking more than a dozen variances from the city’s land development ordinance, including waivers for lot sizes, setbacks and street widths.
The council is expected to vote on the measure during its meeting at 1:30 this afternoon at City Hall.
Among the other issues on the agenda: first reading of an ordinance that would allow waterfront gaming and other uses on property at Veterans Avenue and Beach Boulevard; second reading of a noise ordinance; and a request for variances that would allow a jazz club at the former site of Merchiston Hall on Howard Avenue.
