An arctic cold front is expected to push throughout South Mississippi this evening, causing temperatures to drop below freezing tonight.
While a light freeze is forecast for this evening, the National Weather Service has also issued a hard-freeze watch — meaning temperatures will drop below freezing for several hours — from Wednesday night through Thursday morning.
