The public is invited to an opening reception for two new exhibits at the Biloxi Visitors Center located at 1050 Beach Blvd. Thursday, March 13 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
In the lobby is an exhibit of works by well-known coast photographer Alex North. A native of the Gulf Coast, he is an avid outdoorsman, gardener and photographer. According to North, “As a photographer my main subject matter is our God-given natural surroundings and the wildlife that call it home.  I try to capture things you don’t see, be it a stunning sunrise, osprey fishing, or a bloom opening.  My goal is to capture it as it happens and share it with you through photography.”
A collection of paintings and coast historical building replicas by Biloxi native and folk artist Peter “Petesy” Jurich is on display in the Tommy Munro Gallery. Jurich who grew up in east Biloxi, in an area referred to as “The Point.” Through his artistic creations, he tells the story of neighborhood and relives fond memories of life on the Point.
The North exhibit is on display through March while the Jurich exhibit will remain through April.
The reception is free and refreshments will be served. For more information, call the Visitors Center at (228) 374-3105 or email braymond@biloxi.ms.us.
