Nature of Work:
Performs a variety of complex professional technical functions in managing the City of Biloxi’s computer systems. Plans, implements, and maintains the systems to provide reliable computer networks. Works under the general supervision of the Information Systems Manager. Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware. Installs, configures, and tests hardware and software for personal computers and network servers. Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly.
Education and Experience:
An Associate’s Degree from an accredited two-year college in computer science,
Data processing, business information systems, or a directly related field or three
(3) years’ experience in system administration technologies or a directly related
field or any equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Preference will be given to Microsoft certification(s), Windows NT, Windows 2000, A + certification, networking experience and programming experience.
Proven work experience in IT.
