For just the second time in franchise history, the Biloxi Shuckers will begin their Southern League campaign at MGM Park when the team opens the season on Thursday at 6:35 p.m. against the Birmingham Barons.
The Shuckers will begin the season with five games at home from Thursday to Monday, which will include Double Play Thursday, Fireworks Friday and the first Shuck Yeah Saturday of 2019.
Here’s the rundown:
Thursday, 6:35 p.m. – Opening Night with Magnet Schedule Giveaway presented by WLOX. Double Play Thursday presented by Polk’s Meat Products, Yuengling, Coca-Cola and Kicker 108
Opening Night at MGM Park is packed! Fans will receive a 2019 Shuckers magnet schedule as they enter the gates courtesy of WLOX. It’s also the first Double Play Thursday with $2 Yuengling, $2 hot dogs, $2 sodas and $3 draft beer specials. Plus, ‘The Double Play’ ticket is available, which includes a Reserved Level ticket and two drink vouchers. ‘Double Play’ tickets are $10 if purchased in advance and $12 on the day of the game. Get the first look at the 2019 Shuckers as they take on the Birmingham Barons and start their march towards another South Division crown.
Friday, 6:35 p.m. – Fireworks Friday
It’s the return of the best fireworks show on the Gulf Coast! Come out to see the Shuckers take on the Barons and stick around after the game for fireworks. Fans can also purchase tickets to the Beer Garden Bullpen Seats, located at the top of Section 114. Seats in the Beer Garden Bullpen are $15 and include three, 4 oz. samples of select beers from the Buena Vista Beer Garden. Gates open at 5:30 pm for a 6:35 p.m. first pitch.
Saturday, 6:35 p.m. – Shuck Yeah Saturday: Field of Dreams Night with special appearance by Dwier Brown
If you host it, they will come. The Shuckers will celebrate the 30-year anniversary of ‘Field of Dreams’ with an appearance by Dwier Brown, who starred as John Kinsella in the 1989 film. Dwier will be at the ballpark signing autographs throughout the game and fans are invited to bring their glove for catch on the field with Dwier after the game.
Before the game, Biloxi High School will take on Spanish Fort High School. Gates open at 2:15 p.m. for a 3:15 p.m. first pitch. A ticket to the Shuckers game will grant fans entry to both the Biloxi High and Shuckers game.
Sunday, 2:35 p.m. – Faith and Family Night and Salute Sunday presented by Keesler Federal Credit Union
The Shuckers celebrate faith and family on the first Sunday at the ballpark. Before the game, Crosspoint Church’s worship band will perform and there will be testimonials in the stadium.
To show our appreciation for the men and women of the armed forces, every Sunday at MGM Park is Salute Sunday presented by Keesler Federal Credit Union. Active and retired military personnel can purchase $8 Reserved Level tickets and $10 Dugout Box tickets and the Shuckers will wear special military jerseys.
As the final part of the Shuckers Sunday games, select players will be available for pregame autographs presented by Allegiant Airlines and fans can play postgame catch on the field. Plus, Family Four Packs are available, which include four Reserved Level tickets, four chips, four hot dogs and four drinks for just $60. Gates open at 1:30 p.m. for a 2:35 p.m. first pitch.
Monday, 6:35 p.m. – Barks and Brews presented by Raising Cane’s and F.E.B. Distributing
Biloxi’s first homestand comes to a close with Barks and Brews! New on Mondays, purchase a $10 mug at the Buena Vista Beer Garden that includes your first craft beer. Fans can bring their mug back to the Beer Garden to receive $3 refills of any beer on tap, including Lazy Magnolia Brewing, Parish Brewing and Biloxi Brewing.
It’ll also be a doggone good time with pups out at the park. Dogs are welcome to join their owners who purchase a $7 berm ticket to the game. Arrive early to participate in our pregame dog parade on the warning track.
