The Biloxi Shuckers launched their 2019 season and tonight they end their five-game homestand with the Birmingham Barons.
Here’s a recap of the season opening weekend, straight from Biloxi Shuckers Media Relations Manager and Broadcaster Garrett Greene.
“Despite Mother Nature throwing the kitchen sink at us (and the first ever fog delay in MGM Park history), the Shuckers had their best Opening Weekend attendance mark since 2015 when the franchise had its first ever weekend home series. We’re thrilled that fans came out and got to enjoy fireworks, a special catch on the field with Dwier Brown and celebrated the start of baseball season with us!
“On both Saturday and Sunday we packed in more than 4,000 people to our games and the play on the field didn’t disappoint. We saw a pitcher throw the first complete game of his career and had some big home runs!
“We’re excited to introduce Barks and Brews to close out our Opening Weekend homestand. Monday is your night if you’re a fan of craft beer with a $10 souvenir mug (that’s 20 ounces!) that fans can take back to the Buena Vista Beer Garden for $3 refills of craft beer, including Lazy Magnolia, Biloxi Brewing and Parish Brewing. Fans can also purchase a $7 berm ticket and bring their dog to the game.”
The series with the Barons comes to a close tonight at 6:35 p.m. with RHP Alec Bettinger scheduled to make his Double-A debut for the Shuckers while LHP Sean Nolin will toe the slab for the Barons. Tonight is also Barks and Brews night. Dogs can join their owners out on the berm and can participate in the Shuckers pregame dog parade.
