Sculptures make it to NBC – online only, for now

Katrina sculptures artist Marlin Miller’s debut on national television was bumped last night, after a golf tournament forced NBC to shorten its “Nightly News” broadcast.

However, the program is still in line to appear on a nationwide broadcast, reports NBC correspondent Mark Potter.

NBC, meantime, on Sunday posted online nearly three minutes of bonus footage from the Katrina sculptures. The web-only segment, part of NBC News’s continuing “In their own words” feature, includes comments from Miller and Mayor A.J. Holloway, who on that January day honored an interview commitment as he was on his way to Biloxi Regional Medical Center, where hours later he underwent surgery for a perforated colon.
