Located in the downtown district, the Saenger Theater and Community Center is a large historic theater and meeting place that is host to numerous performing arts, groups and city events. The Saenger Theater was constructed in 1929 and opened in 1930 with the showing of Paramount’s first all-talking movie, “Interference.”

The theater and community gathering place became a city building in 1975 and has since undergone several renovations.  The Saenger may be rented for performances. Public meeting space and discount tickets are available for qualifying residents and organizations.
