Biloxi police officers will begin implementing their Mardi Gras traffic plan this morning around 10:30, closing I-110 to southbound traffic at Division Street and reducing parts of U.S. 90 to two-lane traffic on its southernmost lanes.
Each Mardi Gras, police limit travel on downtown streets as tens of thousands of paradegoers gather for the annual Gulf Coast Carnival Association parade. This year, the parade begins at 1 p.m.
Said Police Sgt. Jackie Rhodes: “As far as getting into downtown Biloxi, it may not be possible after 11 or 11:30 this morning.”
