Planning OKs realignment of Fayard at Bayview

By Jerry Creel, Community Development Director

This week in community development, the Biloxi Planning Commission voted to approve an application from IP Casino for the vacation and realignment of the north end of Fayard Street at Bayview Avenue. The project as proposed will remove the offset intersection that currently exists, and realign this area of Fayard Street to create a 4-way intersection, with better traffic control and pedestrian access. The planning commission’s recommendation will now go before the city council for final consideration. If approved by the council, IP will move forward with their plans to build an improved and fully landscaped parking lot with 627 spaces on the south side of Bayview.

Also this week, Certificates of Occupancy were issued for the new 218 unit Arbor Landing Apartments on Popp’s Ferry Road, and for Tulane University at Edgewater Village.
