Planning Commission seeks input on East Biloxi Hospitality District

The Biloxi Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing Thursday at 2 p.m. to consider comments regarding the possibility of establishing an East Biloxi Hospitality District.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will be in the auditorium of the Community Development Department, on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in downtown Biloxi.

The district, which would be similar to a Convention Center District established in west Biloxi, would allow increased density, structure height and floor-area ratio allowances, and adjust parking requirements for areas within the district.

The district would include all areas of the Biloxi peninsula east of the I-110 overpass. The sand beach would not be included, and height allowances would be subject to restrictions in the city’s height-air navigation overlay map.
