Party at the Point: The lineup and map

Gates opened at Party at the Point at 10 this morning, and live entertainment, fresh seafood dishes, barbecue, arts and crafts, and children’s activities will be on tap through nearly 11 o’clock this evening as well as Saturday and Sunday.

It’s the music – with headliners Buddy Guy, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Sawyer Brown, Lonestar, Robert Randolph and a host of other acts – that is expected to be the top attraction, along with a $20 ticket price, with free admission for children under 12 accompanied by an adult. No outside food or beverages are allowed on the grounds.

The event is being staged at Point Cadet Plaza, on the waterfront north of the Biloxi Bay Bridge. Tickets: $20, one day; $36, two-day pass; or $54 for a three-day pass. Parking is available north or south of U.S. 90 at Point Cadet, with electronic billboards and other signs directing traffic. To see a map showing the traffic routes and festival layout, click here

“I suspect traffic will be picking up this afternoon about 3 or so,” said Biloxi Police Chief John Miller. “We’re asking people coming from the west to use Oak Street, and those coming from the east to use Cedar Street, which is at St. Michael’s Church. People can park south of U.S. 90 at the Isle and walk under the bridge, or they can park off Myrtle Street. Either site is convenient and free.”
