Parents or guardians of students who plan to attend Biloxi Public Schools have until Friday at 3 p.m. to register their children and be able to attend the opening day of school.
Registration takes place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school the student will be attending.
Students who register after Friday will not be permitted to attend school until Thursday, Aug. 6, a day after school opens.
“Typically, between 5 and 8 percent of our students begin attending school several days after the school year has begun, missing critical learning time,” said Dr. Paul A. Tisdale, superintendent of Biloxi Public Schools. “We encourage parents who have not already done so to register their children as soon as possible.”
