Biloxi’s Neighborhood Festival Against Crime takes place Saturday on the Town Green, with free food, games for children, and displays offering a close-up look at multi-million-dollar public-safety equipment. The free event takes place from noon to 5 p.m.
The gathering is the city’s version of the national Night Out Against Crime, traditionally held nationwide in August, but moved in Biloxi to November for more inviting climate, according to Biloxi Police Sgt. Jackie Rhodes.
Public-safety information will be available and children can be fingerprinted, giving parents a record of fingerprints if ever needed.
On display will be an array of equipment employed by the police special-response and dive and rescue teams, and response vehicles from the fire department.
