Nearly two dozen high schools and 440 swimmers from across the state will be competing in the 12th Annual Jeanie Demoruelle Invitational Swim Meet Saturday, at the Biloxi Natatorium.
The swim meet will begin at 10:30 a.m. and last run until about 4 p.m. Spectator fee is $5.
“We have a lot of really competitive swimmers coming to the meet this weekend,” said  Meet director and Biloxi High swim team coach Jamie Lee. “These high school meets are very exciting because you are competing in most of the shorter, faster sprint races with few places to be awarded in each event, so the competition is pretty intense.”
The invitational, sponsored by Biloxi Public Schools and the city, is named for the late Jeannie Demoruelle, longtime Biloxi High School Swim Team supporter.
