City work crews Monday morning spent several hours clearing what appeared to be commercial debris dumped at the Bay Vista community dumpster off Pass Road, and the city has now closed the dumpster because of the continued misuse.
Two other community dumpster sites – behind the Margaret Sherry library on Popp’s Ferry Road and behind the Woolmarket Fire Station off Old Woolmarket Road – remain open, but are limited to residential debris. Residents transporting debris to the sites must place discarded items in the dumpster or face fines for littering.
No commercial use or dumping of garbage is allowed at the community dumpsters.
