MDOT: Motorcylists to lead bridge procession

“Motorcycles will be the first to cross the new Biloxi Bay Bridge as part of the Nov. 1 opening ceremony,” announced Southern District Transportation Commissioner Wayne Brown. “The Mississippi Department of Transportation invites all interested motorcyclists to join in celebrating this much anticipated event.”

The 2 p.m. ceremony followed by the ribbon tying at the center of the bridge will mark the opening of two lanes of the Biloxi Bay Bridge. A Biloxi Bay Bridge Motorcycle Parade will begin immediately following the ceremony and will lead traffic across the bridge. “The opening of this bridge is an important part of Mississippi’s recovery effort,” said Commissioner Brown. “I encourage all motorcyclists to participate in this historic milestone.”
