Main Street to host Brown Bag season-opener

The Biloxi Main Street Association will host its first Brown Bag Lunch of the season Friday in Margaret Tremmel Peresich Park in downtown Biloxi.

Chuck Lofton and Chuck Flowers will provide free entertainment during the 11:30 a.m.-to-1 p.m. gathering.

“This is the first Brown Bag of the spring season,” said Downtown Services Manager Kay Miller. “We’re hoping people will come out, bring a lunch from one of our downtown restaurants, and enjoy the park and the museum.”

Main Street will provide soft drinks and door prizes for those attending.

Other Brown Bag lunches are planned for April 18 and May 16.

Police, fire seek orders for MDA fish fry

Orders are now being taken for the 2008 Law Enforcement Torch Run fish fry, which will be held Friday, April 25 at the Lopez-Quave Public Safety Center.

The fish fry, which benefits the Mississippi Special Olympics program, will feature fried fish or hamburger plates for $5 each. Those interested may dine in, pick up orders or have orders of five or more delivered.

Police to host grand opening for mall office

The Biloxi Police Department will hold a grand opening on April 12 for the department’s new satellite office at Edgewater Mall.
