Judge orders Bolton to erect approved fence

Harrison County Judge Robin Midcalf this morning found property owner Hayes Bolton to be in contempt of previous court orders and ordered him to erect a fence on his beachfront property.

The fence is to comply with the guidelines of the city’s Architectural and Historical Review Commission, including brick columns every six to eight feet. Bolton also was ordered to comply with city landscaping requirements regarding the west and north sides of his property, which is at the corner of Porter Avenue and U.S. 90.

Bolton has 30 days after the issuance of the permit to erect the fence. The city agreed to issue the permit as soon as a request is made.
