Housing Authority announces goal of building 1,500 homes

The Biloxi Housing Authority this afternoon announced a goal of rebuilding or developing more than 1,500 affordable homes through a partnership that will include Enterprise Community Partners and Fannie Mae.

In Mississippi, Fannie Mae is reveiwing an $18 million line of credit, which joins Enterprise’s half-million-dollar line of credit, with the two organizations giving a combined grant of $325,000 to the housing authority to help build 1,500 new homes and apartments.

“Fannie Mae and Enterprise Community Partners have stepped forward to help assist in the recovery of the Biloxi Housing Authority and the Biloxi Community Development Corp. in its effort to build back units,” BHA Chairman Delmar Robinson said during a gathering this afternoon.
