Mayor A.J. Holloway, responding to a request from a citizen, has issued a proclmation making Monday “New Orleans Saints Day,” in honor of the 10-0 NFL team’s contest that night with the New England Patriots.
The five-term Biloxi mayor, who played on the Ole Miss national championship team in 1960, couldn’t pass up the opportunity to make note of last weekend’s Rebels victory over LSU in the proclamation, which was suggested by an LSU fan from Biloxi.
