“FoFo” Gilich captured 60 percent of the 7,253 votes counted in today’s special election to succeed A.J. Holloway, Biloxi’s longest-serving mayor.
Gilich won nine of the city’s 10 voting precincts, losing only Woolmarket by two votes to W.S. “Windy” Swetman III.
The numbers – without affidavit ballots included – were 4,319 votes (59.54 percent) for Gilich vs. Swetman’s 2,914 votes (40.17 percent).
Members of the Biloxi Municipal Election Commission were reviewing affidavit ballots tonight and hoped to certify the election before leaving City Hall.
