Mark Feb. 6 at 5:30 p.m. on your calendar. Sandwiched amongst the calendar of Mardi Gras parades along the Coast in February, Biloxi will host the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales will be in town.
In fact, if you’re at City Hall on Lameuse Street at 6 p.m. that day you’ll have a chance to get a close-up look at the stately team and the shiney red beer wagon.
The Clydesdales will parade south on Caillavet, from Howard Avenue to U.S. 90, turn east on U.S. 90, north on Lameuse Street and to City Hall, where the team is expected to arrive between 5:50 and 6 p.m. and be greeted by Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich and reigning royalty from Gulf Coast Carnival. Budwesier says the City Hall stop is the time to get a close-up look at the team.
The significance of the visit to Biloxi on Feb. 6? “The significance of Feb. 6 is that anytime you can get the Clydesdales, you get them,” says Don Marie of Mitchell Distributing Co. “They called us, and we said YES. I think it’s been a few years, back when Keesler did its last air show that they were in town.
“This Feb. 6 event is a great time for people to come out and see them up close — all eight of them, along with the famous Dalmatian.”
