(Biloxi) -The City of Biloxi will host its annual Hershey Track and Field Meet on Saturday, May 15 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Biloxi High School Stadium, 1845 Richard Drive.
The meet is open to boys and girls age 9 -14 who’s birthdates falls on or before December 31 2010. Pre-registration will be weekdays beginning Monday, May 3 through Friday, May 14 at the Hiller Park Recreation office located at 380 Hiller Drive. Late registration will be held on the day of the event, Saturday, May 15, from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the Biloxi High Stadium. Birth certificates are required for proof of age and parents must sign the entry form.
Events include the 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, and 1600 meter dash, 4 x 100 relay, standing long jump and the softball throw. Participants may enter two track/one field event or two field/one track event.
First place finishers in each event will advance to State which will be held on Saturday, June 5 at the Gulfport High School Stadium located on Victory Lane.
The Hershey Program promotes physical fitness and involves millions of youngsters from all 50 states including the District of Columbia. The program is sponsored by the National Recreation and Parks Association, and the President’s Council on Physical Fitness. It is solely funded by Hershey Foods Corporation.
