Catfish Kids Day planned for Hiller Park Pond

The city’s Parks and Recreation Department and the state’s Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will host Fishing for Catfish Kids Day on Saturday, Oct. 31 at the Hiller Park Pond.

Children ages 15 and under are invited to bring their tackle, cooler and fishing string to the Hiller Park Pond, located in Hiller Park at 380 Hiller Drive, to enjoy a morning of fishing.

Door prizes will be given away for tagged fish caught. Awards also will be presented for the largest fish, smallest fish, ugliest fish, and the most unusual fish caught.

Bait will be provided to all the kids who will be fishing.

Those interested may register the day of the event from 7:30 to 8:15 a.m. Lunch will also be provided to the participants.
