Biloxi First to roast ‘Butch’ Oustalet

Biloxi First has announced that its 2012 roast will focus on A.J.M. “Butch” Oustalet III, arguably south Mississippi’s best-known auto dealer and the 2011 king of Gulf Coast Carnival.

The roast will be held Tuesday, Oct. 30 at IP Casino Resort Spa. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with a cash bar, and dinner and program will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The event is a major fund-raising project of Biloxi First, the non-profit organization that has donated nearly a quarter-million dollars to support classroom projects in Biloxi Public Schools.

Outstalet, a native of New Orleans, began his career in the automobile industry in 1969. He worked his way up as service adviser, service manager, general manager and dealer. Today, he oversees five south Mississippi automobile dealerships that generate $80 million in sales annually. Oustalet has been recognized nationally by his industry for his accomplishments and philanthropic efforts.

Announced roasters are Larry Clark, Oustalet’s business partner and co-star of the zany TV commercials for the duo’s auto dealerships; Biloxi restaurateur Bobby Mahoney; Susan Hunt, an Oustalet family friend and longtime supporter and former administrator at Biloxi Public Schools; and Shorty Sneed, a Coast insurance executive and community theater actor.

Tickets for the roast are $50 per person, with $250 patron and $1,000 corporate sponsorships available. Those interested in purchasing tickets should contact Liz Joachim at 436-4697, ext. 7 or via email at lj@fpcorso.com. Deadline for reservations is Oct. 16.
