Biloxi Connect: Frequently asked questions


Here are some of the frequently asked questions about Biloxi Connect, the new online or mobile service designed to help residents make service requests quickly and conveniently.


Why does the city offer this service?

This service is designed to make communicating with the city easier, and to take advantage of available technology.


How can I use this service?

You can use this service through the city website or on your smart phone. Reporting issues to the city is a simple two-step process and can be done at your convenience 24/7. If you submit the request through your smart phone, and the phone’s GPS is turned on, the phone can automatically provide the location, and descriptions and photos can also be sent and seen in real time. Once an issue is submitted, the resident, city staff, and anyone “watching” the area will receive an alert. City staff can then acknowledge the service request, route it to the proper department, and update the request once it’s been resolved.


What mobile phone platforms do you support?

Biloxi Connect is available on iPhones and Android devices. You can download the free app through the city website, or through App Store or Google play.

Can I submit a service request anonymously?

Yes, service requests can be entered anonymously. After providing the service request details just leave the Contact Info fields blank prior to submitting your request.  You can also use the Skip and Submit button to ignore the Contact Info contents and submit anonymously.


Can I have a copy of my service request sent to my email address?

Yes.  When submitting a service request if you provide your email address on the Contact Info screen you will receive an email notification for that service.


Will you sell, share, or otherwise use my email address?

Your email address is used only for Biloxi Connect and will not be sold or shared.


When I submit a service request who will fulfill the request and how long will it take?

Your request will be assigned to the appropriate city department, depending on the type of request. The time to fulfill the request depends on the type of request, priority, and the volume of requests being handled by the assigned city departments.

Service requests will be fulfilled primarily by three departments: the Public Works Department, Community Development and Parks & Recreation. Requests may be entered using Biloxi Connect at any time, but service fulfillment only takes place during city business hours, except during emergencies.


Is there a limit to the number of service requests that I can enter?

Not, there is not a limit on the number of service request entered.  However, requests may be entered only one at a time.


Do I need to include a photo when submitting a service request?

Adding a photo is optional. If your phone’s GPS feature is turned on, the photo will alert Biloxi Connects of the location of the issue.
