This week’s video features a look at the July BNews Monthly and the two Fourth of July fireworks shows.
The 28-page issue, which recently arrived in Biloxi mailboxes, highlights Biloxi’s water quality report.
The annual report is designed to inform citizens about the quality of Biloxi’s drinking water and includes a detailed list of test results and a list of the water wells and their locations.
The newsletter also features information on the Fourth of July celebrations in Biloxi, Biloxi’s new chief administrative officer, the general election results, details on the new amenities to be installed at Miramar and Pennzoil parks, and the Danny Guice Oak Tree.
There is also the News and notes section, A Thousand Words, information on the upcoming Citizens Police Academy, July Trivia, Random Notes, information on the infrastructure work, the July community calendar, and columns from Biloxi Main Street, Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi Shuckers and the history-filled Back in the Day column.
Also in this week’s video is the Fourth of July fireworks celebration taking place Friday night in Biloxi.
The Biloxi Shuckers will host an Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza at Keesler Federal Park on Friday, July 4, following their game against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos that begins at 6:35 p.m.
Then, at 9 p.m., Boom Boom Committee will light up the Mississippi Sound when fireworks are fired from a barge near Deer Island at Marker 20 in the Biloxi Channel.
The best viewing will be between the Biloxi Lighthouse and the Biloxi Bay Bridge. The fireworks show will be broadcast on 105.9 FM.

Fireworks usually a no-no: According to city ordinance, fireworks can only be shot on July 4 as well as December 31 after 6 p.m. through 1 p.m. on January 1, and the first, second, and third day of Tet only in conjunction with the Dragon Dance, which requires a special permit from the Biloxi Fire Department.
Citizens Police Academy: Registration for the Biloxi Police Citizens Police Academy is open until Aug. 1 or until the limit of 25 participants is reached.
