Biloxi A to Z: Elections, pandemic and more

The city’s 2021 elections have a milestone today, with the 5 p.m. deadline of would-be candidates to file their intent with Municipal Clerk Stacy Thacker.

Party primaries — where voters must vote in either a Democratic or Republican primary — will be Tuesday, April 6, and winners of the respective primaries and any independent candidates will appear on the ballot for the June 8 general election.

The months-away city elections, the latest on COVID-19, a glimpse of public works in east and west Biloxi, weekend preview, and a story from Gumbo Kelly are among the topics in today’s Biloxi A to Z report.
