News & notes: Summer camp, CPR Fest, March of the Mayor
Summer camp: The city’s Summer Playground Program begins registration next week for this summer’s program. Registration for North Woolmarket School is April 9 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Woolmarket Elementary School gym and for Popp’s Ferry and North Bay schools is April 23 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Donal Sydner Community Center. CPR Fest: Over at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum, the CPR fest will take place Saturday on the front lawn. Gates open at 1 p.m. and tickets begin at $31. Performances include 3 Doors Down, the Band Seether, and numerous local bands. For more information, click here.
March of the Mayors: The Coastwide food pantry donation campaign, March of the Mayors, wrapped up this week. Cans of tuna were requested at drop off sites throughout the city; 2,650 cans were collected. Among those contributing were local residents, Nativity BVM Elementary School, St. Patrick’s Catholic High School, Boomtown Casino, Golden Nugget Casino, Palace Casino, Southern Coastal Federal Credit Union, The Peoples Bank, Bancorp South Downtown, Biloxi Main Street board members, and Downtown Biloxi Rotary members. The Big Tuna says thank you to all who participated.
