You can get a haircut or go to the gym beginning Monday.
More openings take place this week — salons, barbershops, gyms and municipal court — as Mississippi today reported 123 new cases of the coronavirus after a rollercoaster week.
Gov. Tate Reeves and Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich signed orders on Friday opening hair salons, barbershops and gyms beginning Monday morning at 8. Biloxi Municipal Court, meanwhile, will have its first court session since mid-March. Court begins at 9 a.m. but will be open only to those with business before the court.
No new coronavirus cases or deaths were reported in Harrison or Jackson counties in the past 24 hours and one new case was reported in Hancock County.
Today’s Be Prepared report, the last planned weekend edition, also includes a salute to Mother’s Day (Jacobina Sekul Gilich, Serena Sablich Gilich, Frances Kuluz Creel and Althia Hebert Dobbs), and a moving tribute to Biloxi from singer-songwriter Ronny Broussard, “I Wanna Come Home.”
