The City of Biloxi will join more than a half dozen local organizations in hosting the annual Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday from 3 to 8 p.m. at John Henry Beck Park, 671 Division St.
The Juneteenth Celebration, which is free and open to all ages, will feature speeches, poetry contests, bounce houses, a health fair, face painting, arts and crafts and voter registration.
Juneteenth is a national celebration established in 1865 in Galveston, Texas to celebrate the freedom of African Americans and emphasize education, fun and unity.
