Main Street ushers in the weekend and a new month this evening with its “Finally First Friday” gathering throughout downtown, you’ll find MGM Park’s inaugural high school baseball game this evening, and on Saturday the Rube Goldberg-like potter Steve Barney is back for daylong outdoor shows.
Main Street’s Finally First Friday kicks off at 5:30 with a Grown-up Easter Egg Hunt at the Mardi Gras Museum, and you’ll find themed discounts and giveaways at a host of downtown restaurants, bars and galleries.
Meantime, over at MGM Park, the matchup between the Biloxi Indians and D’Iberville Warriors, billed as the Battle of Back Bay Tomahawk Cup, finally takes place after rain moved the game from Thursday night. The first pitch will be tossed at 7 p.m. Baseball will continue Saturday afternoon at 1, when Gulf Coast faces Baton Rouge in a community college doubleheader.
Finally, in the second Easter event of the weekend, children up to age five  and their parents will take part in a bundle of Easter activities on Saturday morning at the Biloxi Town Green, 710 Beach Blvd.  And, yes,m the photo-hoppy Easter Bunny will be present.

George Ohr: Crazy is as crazy does
Biloxi’s mad potter, the self-promoting Geroge Ohr, couldn’t have said it better himself when discussing this Saturday’s extravaganza at the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art:
Come see the world’s most amazing pottery machine in action in a heart pounding, thrilling performance under the big top carnival tent.
Learn about STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) as Bay St. Louis Artist/Engineer Steve Barney hangs upside down, makes pots with his head, and performs other crazy antics to make pottery.
The show will also feature a host of wacky carnival performers, including New Orleans’ Zaknoonkaz juggling troupe, belly dancing by Safira, the Ghost of George Ohr, the Dog-Faced Boy and Bearded Girl and others.
Musical performers include Blackwater Brass and D & D Duet. Showtimes are noon, 1:30 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

City Council: The next scheduled meetings of the Biloxi City Council will be Tuesday, March 15. At this writing, there’s a meeting scheduled for 10:30 a.m., to discuss fees at the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor and Point Cadet Marina, with the council’s regularly scheduled meeting planned for 1:30 p.m.
