Continuing the burgeoning redevelopment in Downtown Biloxi, Zeppelin’s Pizzeria and Bar celebrates its grand opening with a ribbon cutting this afternoon at 3.
Mayor A.J. Holloway will headline a gathering of downtown businesses and Main Street Biloxi officials to welcome the city’s newest restaurant in a rapidly changing landscape that is breathing new life into the Vieux Marche. Zeppelin’s is at the corner of Howard Avenue and Main Street, in the building that formerly housed Main Street Diner and Noodles Restaurant.
“We’re excited to have an upscale pizzeria added to the divergent restaurant experience that is helping transform Downtown Biloxi,” said Kay Miller, executive director of Main Street Biloxi. “This all started last year with the Half Shell Oyster House and has gained momentum as the Port City Café, the Columns at 132 and French Kiss Pastry have all opened.
“But all the new businesses have not been confined to restaurants, either. We have the ecoGeno bicycle shop offering rentals and top quality bikes for purchase, and we’re close to adding a couple new retail additions as well. There’s definitely a new energy building downtown.”
Miller added that Main Street Biloxi will soon announce new incentive programs designed to assist small businesses that want to open in the downtown district.
