Work continues on a number of projects, proposals

This week in economic development, Our department issued permits for a new medical office for Dr. Michael Diaz to be located at 936 Tommy Munro Drive, and a renovation permit for Hard Rock Casino to accomodate a new Pie Five Pizza Restaurant.

Also this week, we completed the plans review for Marshall’s Crematorium. Plans for the Sheraton Four Points conversion, and for renovations to The Golden Nugget Hotel are ready to be picked up. We have received renovation plans for Walgreen’s on Pass Road, and building plans for 7 new single family houses.

Construction continues on the Baseball Stadium, Arbor Landing Apartments, Sal & Mookie’s Restaurant, the Blind Tiger Restaurant, Saint Michael’s Life Parish Center, repairs to Casino Magic, and a number of other commercial projects.

We are continuing to work with developers to move forward on the proposed Walmart Neighborhood Market for Popp’s Ferry Road, Citizen’s Bank, the new La Quinta Hotel, the new Hyatt Place Hotel, the Vieux Marche’ Plaza, the Cottages at Oak Park, Hidden Springs, the Biloxi Boardwalk Expansion and a number of other developing projects.

So far this week we have issued 40 building permits with a total construction valuation of $2.1 million.
