Elsewhere: Vince Gill performs at the Beau Rivage, Clint Black and Mickey Gilley will be at the IP, and Brenda Lee and Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone will perform at the Golden Nugget.  Over at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center, rap veteran Gucci Mane & Friends will perform.

The inside story on the new city budget

Kenneth McKeown, who as director of Administration is the go-to numbers guy for the City of Biloxi, discusses the just-approved municipal budget in this week’s City Desk podcast.

The good news: City property taxes will not be increasing and no city services will be reduced. The bad news: Expenditures for the next fiscal year are still projected to surpass revenue for the year, which means the city plans to dip into its financial reserves to balance the budget. The challenge: Grow the economy to create new revenue.
