Weekend and council meeting previews; other news and notes

Among the events taking place in Biloxi this weekend are the annual wooden boat show, the inaugural Walk in the Park at Hiller Park, “The Sound of Music” at the Coast Coliseum, Special Olympics State Summer Games at Keesler, and “I Hate Hamlet” at Biloxi Little Theater.

Council to meet Tuesday morning, afternoon

The Biloxi City Council will meet twice Tuesday, with the council’s regularly scheduled 1:30 p.m. meeting prefaced by an 11 a.m. meeting to discuss the possibility of making Mississippi cottages a permanent part of the neighborhoods citywide.

Both meetings will be at City Hall and are open to the public.

Tree work: MDOT, weather permitting, is scheduled to begin preparing the final tree in the city’s tree-sculpting project next week. For details on the grand finale of the tree-sculpting project, click here.
