This week in economic development came the announcement that Tulane University will be relocating from Edgewater Mall to Edgewater Village, into the former Books-A-Million location. This relocation will add a solid anchor to Edgewater Village, allowing Tulane to double in size, and will free up space at the mall for additional retail tenants.
At the city council meeting this Tuesday, the council will vote on the second reading to add the former Casino Magic site to the Biloxi Tax Abatement District. If approved, this action will prompt an application for future development.
Also this week permits were issued for the Tulane renovations ($1.3 Million), and renovations for offices for Orocon Construction ($300,000).
