Today’s report: The charts, the numbers

Mississippi has now identified more than 16,000 cases of the coronavirus since this pandemic began.

The Mississippi State Department of Health today reported that 268 cases statewide in the past 24 hours, driving the total number of cases since counting began in March to 16,020.

In Harrison County, two new cases were reported in the past 24 hours; however, 26 cases have been reported over the past seven days, increasing the daily average from 1.5 on May 27, six days ago, to an average of 3.07 today.
