This weekend’s made for outdoor activities

The weather’s perfect for two outstanding outdoor events headed your way this weekend on the eastern and western ends of town.

There’s the Our Lady of Fatima International Spring Festival, the event you see advertised in the yards of homes and businesses throughout town, and the Billy Creel Memorial Wooden Boat Show, which takes place at the schooner piers.

The Fatima festival, on the grounds of the Catholic church on Pass Road in west Biloxi, offers three days of family fun, with carnival rides, music, and, of course, myriad tasty dishes.

Meantime, the wooden boat Show, off U.S. 90 in east Biloxi, will have an impressive display of wooden boats from throughout the Southeast, some on land and some on water. You can even find discounted trips on the Biloxi schooners.

Elsewhere in town this weekend, you’ll find Blood & Sand XIV fisticuffs at the Gruich Community Center, Biloxi Little Theater continues its run of “Steel Magnolias,” and there’s a host of entertainment on stage at the city’s casino resorts.
