“2020 will be the year of COVID, but Biloxi will not be defined by a virus,” just as the community was not defined by any hurricane or other disaster, Mayor Andrew “FoFo” Gilich declares in the annual State of the City presentation, which makes its online debut this evening at 8.
The 26-minute presentation uses more than 425 photographs and video clips to highlight a year where the city dealt with the coronavirus pandemic, saw the announcement of nearly $2 billion in waterfront development, completed a major portion of infrastructure work, saw the Biloxi Fire Department named one of the best in the country, and managed to lower water bills while balancing the city’s finances.
