Mayor A.J. Holloway will be making his 20th annual State of the City presentation on Monday before another sold-out Biloxi Bay Chamber of Commerce luncheon.
A total of 700 people have purchased seats to the Beau Rivage luncheon, where Holloway will give a 30-minute presentation that uses more than 500 photographs, maps and video to chronicle major accomplishments and progress the city has made in the past year. Among the topics: economic development, the status of the city’s infrastructure project, and a progress report on other improvement projects.
The mayor’s report will again feature input from a number of the city’s partners, including Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi Public Schools, the Biloxi Housing Authority and Coast Transit.
Doors for the luncheon will open for ticketholders at 11 a.m., and the program will begin at 11:30 a.m. The mayor’s 30-minute presentation is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m.
See it on TV: Cable One will air the mayor’s presentation for its Biloxi subscribers on Tuesday at noon, 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Cable Channel 19. The mayor’s report also will be online Monday afternoon, along with dozens of photos from the gathering.

City Council preview: The City Council is expected to vote on a measure Tuesday designed to help regulate parking at the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor. Sand sculpture: A Melbourne, Fla., sand-sculpting team on Tuesday will begin work on creating a 75-ton sand sculpture inside Edgewater Mall. This year’s sculpture will highlight fashion and pop culture through the decades from the ’70s until now. The team will be working on the sculpture at Center Court near Dillard’s during mall hours through March 8.
Special meeting: The Biloxi City Council has called a special meeting for Tuesday, March 5 at 11 a.m. to discuss the city contract with HNTB, the firm overseeing the city’s $355 million infrastructure program. The meeting will be at City Hall and is open to the public.
