Something new, something prehistoric at Edgewater Mall

The big talk at Edgewater Mall, of course, has been the new eight-screen movie theater – scheduled to open Nov. 30 – and
the new trampoline center, but there’s something pre-historic lurking at the mall in November.

Prehistoric Dinosaur Adventures, a free attraction Nov. 9-11 at the mall, combines a unique mobile prehistoric walk through Dinosaur Museum and thrilling up-close encounter with the king of dinosaurs, “Tyrannosaurus Rex.”

The attraction, which is near Belk, will be open Friday and Saturday, Nov. 9-10 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 11, from
noon to 6 p.m.

“Families are amazed and thrilled as they interact with a life-size dinosaur and his handler Jim ‘The Dino Guy,'” says Mall Manager Terry Powell. “Kids can take part in the exciting Dino Kids Challenge games and families are welcome to take photos with the outdoor dinosaur theme cutout standup.”

It’s also an educational exhibit, Powell says: “The museum gives a great opportunity to see a mixture of fossils and skeletons up-close. Kids can explore nature with the bug specimen microscope, and you’ll find historical facts, pictures, large and small fossils, and multi-media.”
