A sold-out crowd will be on hand Saturday night when members of West End Hose Co. No. 3 Fire Museum present their annual steak fundraiser and honor former Biloxi Mayor Daniel D. “Danny” Guice.
Guice, the former Biloxi mayor, state representative and judge has been a faithful supporter of the museum since it opened and has attended nearly every event the museum volunteers have hosted.
“We wanted to incorporate something new this year,” Fire Chief Joe Boney said of the event, which sold out Thursday. “We want to recognize someone in Biloxi who has really helped the museum move forward and Danny Guice has done just that.”
In addition to the tribute, attendees will be treated to an evening social at 6:30 followed by a steak dinner where the special cut, large steaks will be prepared by Biloxi firefighters.
“Chefs in the fire department will prepare the steaks to your order and firefighters serve the steaks at the dinner,” Boney said.
The museum, located at 1046 Howard Ave., is in an historic 1937 fire house and showcases exhibits featuring many historic photographs as well as antique fire equipment that documents the history of the Biloxi Fire Department, which dates back more than 120 years.
