Small craft harbor boat launch closes this evening

Workers at the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor will be closing the boat launch and parking areas near the boat launch this evening so contractors can begin removing aging pavement on Wednesday morning.

Access to the Biloxi Harbor Bait and Fuel Dock will be maintained, and parking areas at McElroy’s Seafood Harbor Restaurant also will remain open.

The area from the Port Division Building to just east of the Biloxi boat launch, including the boat launch, will be closed to allow milling work, which will be followed up by paving. No word on when the work will be completed.

Paving still underway at Cedar-Popp’s

Crews will be applying the final layer of asphalt at the intersection of Cedar Lake and Popp’s Ferry roads this evening, working from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. to minimize inconvenience to the 29,000 motorists who travel that intersection on an average day.

Workers hope to complete the paving of the intersection Wednesday night, when they will also be working from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. The two-night job had been expected to be completed this evening, but workers were unable to work Monday night.
