Severe weather possible this evening

Biloxi residents are facing a chance of severe weather tonight, with winds that could gust up to 60 mph, heavy rain, and a chance for hail and tornadoes.

Emergency management officials have announced that Jeff Davis Elementary School in Biloxi will be opened as a shelter for those who are concerned. The shelter will open at 7 this evening and remain open through the evening. The strongest winds are expected at 3 a.m.

Those considering the shelter should plan on bringing their own food, water and bedding. No alcoholic beverages or firearms are allowed in shelters.
