Senior Games kick off Saturday

Mississippi Gulf Coast Senior Games pickleball tournament will be Saturday, April 13 in the Biloxi High School gym.

Pickleball is the fastest gowning sport in the country. It has been added as an event in the National Senior Olympics for the first time this year.

Play begins at 9 a.m.

The golf event will be on Tuesday, April 16 beginning at 9 a.m. at The Oaks Golf Course in Pass Christian.

Among the others competing in the Senior Games:
— Elmer Frost, age 90, from Gulfport will be swimming at the Biloxi Natatorium on Saturday, April 20.

— Donal Snyder, 91, from Biloxi will be competing in the track and field events at the Gulfport High School track on Friday, April 19.

— Thelma Gelis, age 90, from Waveland will be competing in the track events.

— Bob McCord from West Alexander, Pa. is flying in Friday to compete in the basketball free throw and 3 point throw in Pascagoula at the basketball event.
