Seafood festival ready to roll on Town Green

“The weather’s beautiful and breezy, and the Town Green is abuzz with anticipation for this weekend’s Biloxi Seafood Festival,” Biloxi Chamber Director Rachael Seymour said this afternoon from the Town Green, where vendors were setting up for the chamber’s 31st rendition of the annual celebration of seafood and music.

Among the new attractions this year: a taping of Gulfport restaurateur Rob Stinson’s MPB program “Fit to Eat,” and a concert by the renowned ’80s cover band the Molly Ringwalds.

“Having the Molly Ringwalds is pretty big for us,” Seymour admitted, “but you’ll also find our traditional favorites, like the Rochelle Harper Band, Rhythm & Rain, and Dikki Du and the Zydeco Crew. Of course, there’s the seafood dishes from the Coast’s best restaurants and caterers, the Sun Herald Gumbo Championship, and tons and ton of arts and crafts.”

Admission is $5 for adults, with no admission fee for children, and $1 discount for military.
