RV park issue to top nighttime council meeting

Members of the Biloxi City Council will decide whether to allow an RV park to be constructed on 14.5 acres off Wells Drive when they meet on Tuesday evening at 6 at City Hall.

The meeting marks a return to the council’s pre-Katrina routine of having the first-of-the-month meeting at night.

Besides the RV park issue, the council will also be asked to add 90 days to the construction schedule of the million-dollar bait shop and fuel dock now under construction at the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor. Contractors are asking for the extension – to November 27 – to work around underground obstructions that were found when installing an elevator pit.

During the nighttime meeting, the council also will hear comments on the pending city budget.

The council will also meet at 4:30 Tuesday afternoon to consider measures to update the city’s building codes, and will then gather to learn more about tax increment financing and other development tools.
